"@WFROSE: So you are going to ignore the massive amount of money being put into green energy and other areas of research in China but not in the US? I'm talking about trends with momentum, you are talking about the current state of affairs, something which is rarely stable and changes faster and faster now. I am not saying the USA is going to cease to be innovative, just that China is rapidly catching up and pointing out how far behind they are in certain things is no evidence otherwise. For example, medical technology is certainly extremely advanced here in the US, but it is also ridiculously expensive and we don't provide as consistently good care to reduce patients needing to come back for follow-up procedures and the like."
